  • Manhattan magician and mentalist Oz Pearlman, 32, flashed a deck of cards as crossed the finish line first in the LI Marathon, winning in an unofficial time of two hours, 25 minutes, 27 seconds.

“It was hot,” Pearlman said moments after winning. “It was near 70 degrees. The heat was a factor. It hasn’t been this hot yet. We had a rough winter. I was pretty happy with my time.”

Pearlman said he finished the Boston Marathon two weeks ago in 2:25:31.

“I love LI,” he said. “It was a little lonely on Wantagh parkway, but LI showed their spirit. It was a lot of fun."

  • Kelly Gillen, 32, of Manhattan, won the women’s LI marathon in three hours, three minutes, 57 seconds. Gillen won the race in 2013, she said. She is originally from Manhasset, before moving to Westchester as a young adult. Gillen recently received her doctorate in breast cancer research from Cornell University.

“I went to Manhasset middle school,” she said. “My first races were in (Eisenhower) Park.”

And now, once again, it’s come full circle.

“It was really warm out there,” Gillen said of the race. “I started out pretty slow on purpose, hoping to speed up a little bit. I was in fourth place at mile 12 and just tried to find the next girl in front of me, pass her, find the next girl, and pass her.”

Gillen ran a 7:01 per mile pace.

Hampton Bays' Jessica Ramsay, 37, was second in 3:08:41.
