ISLIP TOWN - PUBLIC HEARINGS: The Islip Town planning board meets tomorrow at Town Hall, 655 Main St., to hold public hearings, including applications to run a Kismet bar and to convert a Brentwood condo development to rentals. HEMPSTEAD VILLAGE - SCHOOL DISTRICT MEETING: The Hempstead School District board meets tomorrow at 7 p.m. in Hempstead High School's auditorium, 201 President St. Earlier this week, a state Education Department audit reported the school district boosted 1,294 high school students' grades from failing to passing. SMITHTOWN - OVERLAY DISTRICT: A public hearing will be held tomorrow on changing zoning of the light industrial parcel in the Hauppauge Industrial Park to allow for taller buildings.
